About UsJorrah Siberian Cattery
The Beginning of Jorrah Siberian Forest cats...... The picture above is what started it all, for my husband & I. It is a picture of Taurus Demyan at two weeks old and the picture that stole our hearts. When the lady who started this all for me, Tamara Sorokina, at Taurus Cattery, in Saratov, Russia, emailed me to offer this young lad to me, I was ecstatic, to say the least! I had only hoped that after a couple years of breeding, that I would be offered a cat from a cattery with such high morals, values, standards and reputation. Alot of catteries will not sell to a new breeder, out of concern for their kittens. If you have no one to ask about a new person, you can not be sure if this kitten will be treated with kindness and respect, all of it's life, or stuck in some cage only to be let out to breed. This is very important to breeders who truly care for the breed they are representing and the pets they cherish. After a few important questions Tamara asked me, it was done. Demyan was ours and now we had to find him a girlfriend. ( : Tamara introduced me to a wonderful lady by the name of Tatyana Alekseev, from the very well known cattery of Onix Gloria in Moscow, Russia. I was blessed enough to be offered a little girl of hers that showed wonderful qualities and top notch bloodlines. Of course, I couldn't pass up this opportunity, only a fool would! Tamara has a golden female from Tatyana's cattery and the Taurus/Onix Gloria kittens are very lovely. Taurus Demyan had a mate, Onix Gloria Eva So Foxy. My beautiful babies arrived August 7th, 2003!!! They were even more wonderful then I had imagined! Although the pictures I had received of them, via e-mail, showed off their beauty quite well, it was not like seeing them with my own eyes. I am so pleased with my cats and my hopes and goals are to help other people to feel as happy as I am. I had a family that recently contacted me about a kitten. They are a perfect example of the reason I have decided to breed rather then just have Siberians solely as pets. They are a family that has had cats in their lives as far back as they can remember. Their youngest child was diagnosed with feline allergies and they were forced, with great sorrow, to part with their two beloved family cats. It brings tears to my eyes to think of how much love my kitten will have in their home and bring to their home. Mission accomplished! ( : I hope to repeat this process numerous times. (( : Our cats belong with us as family. Each one with it's own way of being, we love them all. This has all just seemed like it was meant to be. The doors have opened up in front of me so easily and it definatly seems like fate that I have gotten the oppertunities that has come to me and I have gone after. The path from the beginning of my quest to learn more about The Siberian Cat, to the place Jorrah Cattery is now, has been a most wonderful journey for me and I learn more each day, as my journey continues, from the wonderful community of Siberian friends I have made. Without them, I would have to do alot more reading. (( : Thank you so much for visiting my web page. I hope you enjoy the view. ( : Heather
